The invention relates to a device intended for introducing young children to balance on a bicycle. This mechanism consists of a movable part B connected to a stationary frame A by means of a bent shaft C rotating on itself inside a bearing D integral with the frame A, and inside a bearing D1 integral with the movable part B. The shaft C is driven in rotation by an assembly of two pinions P1 and P2 connected together by a chain Ch, the pinion P1 being integral with the bent shaft C and the pinion P2 being integral with a pedal and gear mechanism Pe connected to the movable part B by means of a sliding device Cl serving for adjusting the tension of the chain Ch. The movable part B of the mechanism is also connected to the frame A by means of a small connecting rod E equipped with a pivot E1 and E2 at each of its ends, it being possible for the assembly of the movable part B to be covered with a figure F1 representing, for example, an animal or a familiar object from the child's environment. This mechanism applies principally to children's games. IMAGE
