The measurement device for defining the dimensions of a future gable wall is characterised, according to the invention, in that it comprises a rectilinear assembly which can be adjusted in height by means of several tubular rectilinear sections A, B and C sliding one inside the other. Each of these sections A, B and C comprises various fixtures allowing the various operations of positioning, measuring and fixing to be carried out simply, rapidly and rationally, principally by means of: the base elements in U1 formation provided to receive transverse clamping joints VII; handles 3, spirit level 14 ensuring a perfect verticality; attachment screws 6; hook 10, line hook V; as well as the metric graduations 13 which can be read directly. Most of these accessories are integral with the rectilinear tubular element or sheath A, the latter being the essential base auxiliary in the design of the present device which, according to the invention, is intended in particular for dimensioning future gable walls.
