The invention relates to a device for producing electrical energy using the hydraulic energy available in the water supply networks during the operations of filling and draining these reservoirs. It consists of a mechanical fixture 1, 4 and 11 making it possible to hold on the trajectory of the water a generator machine 26 provided with a driving screw (propeller) 22. According to some features of the invention the machine 26, which is not leaktight, operates equally well in one direction or the other. During the operations of filling and of draining the reservoirs the passage of the water in the duct 5 rotationally drives the screw (propeller) 22 secured to the machine 26, thus producing electrical energy. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for powering electrical and electronic appliances used for the automation and remote management of water supply networks, in remote areas.
