An electric power production device using all or part of the hydraulic power available in water supply networks during filling and emptying operations has a simple mechanical assembly formed of arms 11 and/or spacers (23, Figs 3, 6) for holding a machine formed of an electric generator and a bladed rotor 9 in position on the axis of and inside a duct in the path of the water. The generator and rotor may be mounted inside a casing (19, 20, Fig 3).
