Microcapsules with a mixed wall of atelocollagen and crosslinked glycosaminoglycans and processes for the manufacture thereof. According to the invention the microcapsules are characterised in that they comprise a mixed wall of atelocollagen and of crosslinked glycosaminoglycans; the proportion of the glycosaminoglycans in relation to the atelocollagen is preferably between 18 and 50 % by weight. These microcapsules may be manufactured either by a process using an interfacial crosslinking or else by an extrusion with laminar flow which is broken up by vibrations into individual droplets falling into a bath for crosslinking. These microcapsules are biocompatible by virtue of the presence of atelocollagen which exhibits most of the advantageous properties of collagen, namely a very low antigenicity and a perfect biodegradability. They are therefore particularly suited for the manufacture of cosmetic, pharmaceutical or alimentary compositions.
