ELECTRONIC RETRIEVING METHOD FOR TYPE OF PUBLICATION CONTENTS AND ITS PUBLICATION

PURPOSE:To instantaneously retrieve the theme contents of publications by setting previously bar codes to prescribed theme storage items like the tables of contents of publications, the headers, etc., in response to the theme contents respectively and inputting and storing these theme contents into a storage part via hose bar codes. CONSTITUTION:When a bar code 11 is read by a scanner 10 of an electronic retrieving device 2, the signals of each theme contents read by the scanner 10 are inputted to a CPU 7 via an input device 9 and an input/output interface 8. The data on the theme contents computed by the CPU 7 are stored in a memory part 6. These data on the theme contents can be called out of the part 6 as necessary and sent to a liquid crystal screen 3 via the CPU 7, an input/output interface 8, and an output device 4 with selection of a theme retrieving key 5 of the device 2. Thus it is possible to retrieve the name, the number of pages, etc., of a publication the desired theme contents.
