MASS DATA MEMORY RETRIEVAL SYSTEM, DATA RETRIEVAL RECORDING SYSTEM AND MASS DATA MEMORY LIBRARY SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To provide different storage capacities, throughputs and access time by selecting a data storage module inside a mass storage library and connecting an interface means to a selected recording module. CONSTITUTION: An interface tape server 14, 16 or 18 or an interface disk server computer 19 requests resources from a control sub system 40 first at the time of receiving the read or write command of data. A computer 40 initializes and positions appropriate resources and provides information to a requesting interface sub system(IFS) in the case that the resources are in a utilizable state. The control of recorder resources is shifted to the requesting IFS at the time. When an operation is completed, the controlling IFS supplies the information for indicating that the operation is completed to the control computer 40 and the control computer 40 performs the allocation release of the resources. In such a manner, the control computer 40 performs communication with the IFS tape servers 14, 16 and 18 and the IFS disk server 19 through a line 58.
