MECHANICAL TRANSLATION SYSTEM USING BILINGUAL SENTENCE TEMPLATE PAIR

PURPOSE:To easily change the translation algorithm by performing the collation be tween an input sentence of an original language and a template of the original lan guage included in a bilingual sentence template to decide the template of the original language and then producing an output sentence via a template of a target language to be paired with the template of the original language. CONSTITUTION:An ordinary user of a mechanical translation system registers previously such a sentence including a peculiar expression of a technical field, etc., and hard to translate with a narmal grammer into a bilingual sentence template pair table (T) 4 of the system as a pair of bilingual sentence templates together with a bilingual sentence of a target language. Then an input sentence of an original language is collated with a template of the original language included in a pair of bilingual sen tence templates at mechanical translation. When the coincidence is obtained from the comparison, the template of the target language paired with a template of the original language is extracted and outputted via an output part (0) 5 as a translated sentence. Thus it is possible to translate expression of a comparatively complicated grammatical structure in an expression form desired by the user with the grammatrical knowledge and the computer knowledge that can be handled by the ordinary users.
