PURPOSE: To directly detect the subject compound of a fibrin breakdown product for monitoring thrombolytic and hypercoagulable state by a non-antibody assay method, by mixing a D-dimer-containing sample with a purified fragment E of a human fibrinogen bonded to a substrate. ;CONSTITUTION: A sample (e.g. plasma) of a biological substance possibly containing a D-dimer is mixed with a reagent containing a purified fragment E of a human fibrinogen chemically bonded to a solid substrate such as a latex bead, a complex of the fragment E and the D dimer bonded to the solid substrate is formed, the latex bead is agglutinated, the agglutination state is compared with that of a standard substance of the D-dimer having an already known concentration and observed to directly detect the D-dimer as a fibrin breakdown product in a biological sample for diagnosing and monitoring thrombolytic and hypercoagulable state by a non-antibody assay method.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO
