INFORMING SYSTEM FOR END OF SEEKING ACTION OF MAGNETIC DISK

PURPOSE:To shorten the time to obtain the next instruction, by executing information of the end of the seeking action of a magnetic disk by the timing detected from the shifting speed of a magnetic head before the seeking action is over. CONSTITUTION:A seeking action instruction given from a processor HOST is received by a comparator CON in a desk controller DSK and converted within the CON into a command to a magnetic disk DKU to be indicated to the DKU in the form of a mechanical action. A timer TIM produces a window to detect the deceleration time that is decided by the shift distance of a magnetic head. For the DKU, the magnetic head is positioned for shift at a prescribed track on the basis of a command given from the DKC. In this case, the shift positioning speed of the magnetic head is obtained from a speed detector attached to an actuator which performs the shift positioning of the magnetic head.
