PURPOSE: To make rapid mass production of the seeds useful as the substitutes for natural potato seeds by culturing the shoot apexes for forming the artificial potato seeds derived from the diseaseless strain potatoes of a virus-free superior variety by a specific method. CONSTITUTION: The shoot apexes (KCTC 8445P) for forming the artificial potato seeds are first derived from the diseaseless strain potatoes of the virus-free superior variety. These shoot apexes are then propagated by a Petri dish culture method using a medium of a special compsn. adequate for production of the artificial potato seeds. For example, the medium having the compsn. shown in table is used as the medium.
