PURPOSE:To suppress an increase in transmission loss and to improve flexibility by specifying the relation between the outside diameter and twisting pitch of the plastic optical fiber in a prescribed twisting structure. CONSTITUTION:The plastic optical fibers 12, the cores and/or clads of which consist of plastic and the plastic optical fibers 12 and/or intervening material 13 which is the same as thee plastic optical fibers are twisted to P1=300Xd when the outside diameter of the plastic optical fibers 12 is designated as (d) and the twisting pitch thereof as P1. The twisting pitch P1 based on the outside diameter (d) of the plastic optical fibers in the case of the twisted body of such plastic optical fibers is as large as =300Xd, and therefore, the bending of a small radius of curvature is less given to the optical fibers. Not only the fatigue of the optical fibers is obviated but also the increase in the transmission loss is extremely lessened. The good transmission characteristic is thus maintained.
