PURPOSE:To make a surface having backing surface roughness about 3 mum Rmax to be supermirror-finishable to about several 10 mum Rmax by relatively rotating an electrode tool and a small bore pipe and simultaneously with it, giving relative reciprocating motion in the axial direction and mechanically performing mirror polishing with additional action of fine floating abrasive grains mixed in an electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:After the internal surface of a small bore pipe 10 reaches surface roughness of 0.5 mum Rmax, a mirror finishing electrode tool 1(=14), in which urethane 3 is wound along the periphery of a core electrode 2, is used as a tool and press-inserted into the small bore pipe 10, and by allowing a fine current to flow between both poles in an electrolyte with the small bore pipe serving as a plus pole and the electrode tool 1(=14) serving as a minus pole, the internal surface of the small bore pipe 10 is electrolytically polished in parallel, with this action the electrode tool 1(=14) and the small bore pipe 10 are relatively rotated and simultaneously with this rotation relative reciprocating motion is given in the axial direction to mechanically perform mirror polishing by adding also action of fine floating grains mixed in the electrolyte.
