PRODUCTION OF WARP KNITTED ELASTIC FABRIC

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject knitted fabric excellent in elasticity by knitting a ground weave using a non-elastic yarn and inserting the first elastic yarn and a composite elastic yarn composed of the second elastic yarn and a non- elastic yarn therein in a state where both the elastic yarns are in contact with each other for formation of a warp knitted ground and treating the resultant warp knitted ground with cellulase. CONSTITUTION:A ground weave is knitted preferably using a synthetic multifilament (or cotton yarn) such as nylon or polyester and a polyurethane elastic yarn (first elastic yarn) and a composite elastic yarn produced by using a polyurethane elastic yarn (second elastic yarn) as the core yarn and covering the core yarn using a conventional fiber yarn, e.g. a cotton yarn as a non-elastic yarn are inserted therein in a state where both the elastic yarns are in contact with each other to produce a warp knitted elastic ground. The resultant warp knitted elastic ground is then treated with cellulase for weight loss of the above- mentioned cotton yarn, etc., thus obtaining the objective knitted warp elastic ground having flexibility, low in fuzziness, excellent in moisture absorption properties and suitable for foundation garments.
