PURPOSE:To define the extent of trouble contents as well as to facilitate repairs by detecting whether each starter motor is in an operating state or not, while judging whether a driving system of the starter motor is in a state of being energized with current or not, and making these judged results so as to be displayed with plural pieces of indicators. CONSTITUTION:In an engine equipped with two starter motors 11, 12, when a starter switch 37 is turned to ON, each of coilds 17, 18, 22, 23 is magnetized by voltage out of a battery 13, and then motor switches 16, 21 are turned to ON, rotating motor bodies 20, 25. At this time, a state of each of terminals B1, B2, C1, C2, M1, M2 is monitored by an overload detector 29 and a judging circuit 30. Then, on the basis of each state of output of the overload detector 29 and the terminals M1, M2, trouble in these starter motors 11, 12 is detected, and lamps 31, 32 are lighted. In addition, on the basis of each state of the output of the overload detector 29 and the terminals B1, B2, C1, C2, trouble in power lines 14, 15 is detected, lighting lamps 33-36 likewise.
