FUNCTION STRUCTURE GENERATING SYSTEM FOR VOCABULARY FUNCTION GRAMMAR

PURPOSE:To shorten the processing time during which a function structure is produced from an input sentence by obtaining a local function structure to decide its eligibility and discontinuing the solution of the simultaneous linear equations if the eligibility is not satisfied. CONSTITUTION:A meaning structure generating system consists of a sentence structure analyzing part 25, a grammar rule data base 26, a word dictionary data base 27, a function structure generating part 28, and a meaning analyzing part 29. A partial assembly of function schemata is obtained for generation of each local function structure. Then, a local function structure is obtained for each local assembly and at the same time it is decided whether the local function structure is qualified or not. If not, the solution of the simultaneous linear equations is immediately discontinued. Thus, it is possible to shorten the processing time to obtain a function structure as the result of discontinuation of the solution.
