PURPOSE:To obtain a pressed brazing filler metal free from chipping and cracking by preheating Au alloy brazing filler metal and pressing it with a press die providing a heating and heat-insulating part at the range of specified temperatures. CONSTITUTION:Bar stock 3 of plate Au alloy brazing filler metal having a low melting point is preheated by a preheating part 1, pressed with a 5 heated and heat-insulated at 100-350 deg.C and coiled by a coiler 7. When the pressing temperature is 100 deg.C, the brazing filler metal is unsatisfactory in improvement of brittleness and when it is 350 deg.C, it takes a sherbet state and deteriorates in working accuracy. The pressed brazing filler metal free from chipping and cracking can be obtained and the durability of the die is improved as well.
