PURPOSE:To provide a specified composition simply and very efficiently by adding a specified amount of an organic oxide of a specific value of one minute half-life temperature to a mixture of powder of a required amount of polyethylene and a chemical foaming agent of a specified decomposition temperature kneaded together at a specified temperature and by kneading at a specified temperature. CONSTITUTION:The 100 weight parts of high pressure process low density polyethylene and the 1 - 5 weight parts of a chemical foaming agent of decompo sition temperature of 150 - 240 deg.C are mixed and kneaded at 120 - 140 deg.C to form powder. An organic peroxide of one minute half-life temperature lower by 0 - 30 deg.C than the decomposition temperature of a chemical foaming agent is added by 50 - 50,000ppm to 100 weight parts of the powder and kneaded at temperatures of 50 - 80 deg.C so that most part of the organic peroxide is soaked in the powder. This provides a high foam rate insulation polyethylene resin composition simply and very efficiently. A cable with high foam rate insulation can be produced by the extrusion molding of this composition.
