PURPOSE:To prevent the negligence of the fixture of a chuck claw and to make it safe by fixing a master jaw and top jaw with the advance of a lock bar and making a lock bar cross sliding key unable to be pulled out while the lock bar is retreated. CONSTITUTION:A key 7 is inserted into the engaging groove of an engaging pin 4 from the guide groove 5a of a lid member 5 and rotated 90 deg. to retreat a lock bar 3 engaged with an eccentric projecting part 4a. A top jaw 20 is then pressed, the engaging groove of the top jaw 20 is engaged with the keys 11, 12 of the front face of a master jaw 1, dovetail grooves 21, 22 are pressed to the inclined faces of dovetails 9, 10, the lock bar 3 is advanced by the energizing of a spring 2 by turning the engaging pin 4, plunged into a positioning hole 20a, the top jaw 20 is fixed to the master jaw 1 and the key 7 is pulled out. The top jaw 20 is fitted or interchanged in order but the key 7 can be inserted and pulled out only at the time when the directions of the guide groove 5a of the lid member 5 and the engaging groove of the engaging pin 4 being set at the fixed position with the master jaw 1 are the same.
