COLOR DEVELOPMENT REPLENISHING SOLUTION COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING SILVER HALIDE COLOR PHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To prevent coloring of a color development replenishing solution and production of tarry stained matter by incorporating substantially no benzyl alcohol in the replenishing solutionbut bromione ions in an amount of 3X10-5 -5X10-4 mol/l and a specified compound. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide color photographic sensitive material has at least one photosensitive emulsion layer containing silver chloride grains in an amount of = 95 mol %, and the development replenishing solution substan tially does not contain benzyl alcohol but contains bromine ions in an amount of 3X10-5 -5X10-4mol/l, and at least one of the compounds represented by formula l in an amount of = 100 ml/m2 of the photosensitive material. In formu la l, A is -SO3M or -SO4M; M is H or an alkali metal atom, such as Li or Na; R is a straight chain or branched alkyl, or each of A and R may be H; p is 1, 2, or 3; and q is an integer of 0 - 6, thus permitting the color development replenishing solution to be prevented from coloring, and producing, and produc ing tarry stained matter and precipitates.
