PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of the separation and purification of protein by chemically bonding a granular carrier free from protein-adsorption capability to a DNA strand having a base sequence capable of specifically bonding a specific protein, thereby forming a DNA-immobilized microsphere. CONSTITUTION:The objective DNA-immobilized microsphere can be produced by chemically bonding a carrier free from protein-adsorption capability and having a particle diameter of =50mum to a DNA strand having a base sequence capable of specifically bonding a specific protein. The specific protein is preferably a transfer-controlling factor and the surface of the protein non-adsorbing carrier is preferably made of polyglycidyl methacrylate particles. A protein is adsorbed via the DNA strand to the DNA-immobilized microsphere having the above structure, the other proteins are removed from the system and the adsorbed protein is separated from the DNA strand to obtain the protein in purified state.
