PURPOSE:To secure intentionally production of green tea even if qualities of green tea product may be sacrificed to some extent, by controlling a feed amount of raw tea leaves and a treating process time. CONSTITUTION:In green tea production line provided with the roughly rubbing machine 5, the rubbing machine 6, the middle rubbing machine 7, and another tea making machine, treatment of raw tea leaves by the treatment process machines for tea leaves, such as the roughly rubbing machine, the rubbing machine, the middle rubbing machine, etc. is carried out in such a way the process is finished within the limit of the maximum treatment time obtained by dividing a feed amount calculated as raw tea leaves for one time by a flow rate of the raw tea leaves per unit time to give the quotient, multiplying the quotient by the number of the operating treatment process machines to give a process treatment time, and substracting a time required for taking out the tea leaves from the process treatment time, independently of a treatment time required for secure the maximum quality in the treatment process machine. Consequently, the raw tea leaves can be continuously treated without being retarded in the treatment process machine, and treatment of raw tea leaves can be always carried out efficiently.
