PURPOSE:To correctly recognize the structure of a program and to translate it by analyzing the syntax of the corresponding relation of plural control flow sentences describing block structure in a source program based upon an indention position consciously edited by an operator. CONSTITUTION:The source program 11 in a file 1 is edited by an editor 2 and then translated by a compiler 3 to form an objective program 4. The compiler 3 is constituted of a source program input means 31, a control flow sentence recognizing means 32, an indention position detecting means 33, a control flow sentence corresponding relation deciding means 34, a source program correcting means 35, and a source program translating means 36. The syntax analysis of the corresponding relation of control flow sentences described in the source program 11 based upon an indention position consciously formed by the operator at the time of programming is executed prior to a formal analysis based upon language specifications. Consequently, the syntax analysis processing can be executed by the program structure close to human visual recognition.
