POLYACROLEIN LATEX, LATEX REAGENT FOR IMMUNOLOGICAL EXAMINATION AND EXAMINATION OF SYPHILIS ANTIBODY

PURPOSE:To reduce the difference in judgement between facilities by using a latex reagent prepared by sensitizing polyacrolein latex with a syphilis antigen (TP antigen). CONSTITUTION:The particle size of polyacrolein latex is about 0.7 - 2.5mum, pref., about 1.1 - 1.9mum. As a TP antigen to be used, one prepared by culturing TP bacteria in the testicles of a rabbit and making a bacterial count even to grind the testicles by an ultrasonic method can be used. The amount of the TP antigen to be used is pref. adjusted so that an antigen wherein a bacterial count of 108 - 1010 order is ground is used per 1g of the solid of the latex. The concn. of the polyacrolein solid in the latex (reagent) is pref. within a range of 0.01 - 2wt.% and, as the dispersing medium of the latex, water is pref. By this method, the stability of an agglutination image settled after agglutination reaction is well and the individual difference due to a judge and the difference in judgement between facilities can be reduced.
