PURPOSE:To secure the safety, and also, to improve the reliability by bringing an internal timer to time-up by an interruption control program executed periodically, when a main control program comes not to be executed normally, and stopping a load by resetting a microcomputer. CONSTITUTION:A step for setting a timer contained in a microcomputer 6 to an initial state is integrated into a main control program 9-1, and a step for advancing time-counting of a timer, a step for deciding time-up of the timer, and a step for setting the microcomputer 6 at the time when the timer is brought to time-up are integrated into an interruption control program 9-2. Accordingly, when the main control program 9-1 comes not to be executed normally, the timer comes not to return to an initial state, therefore, whenever the interruption control program 9-2 is executed, time-counting of the timer advances, and in the end, the timer is brought to time-up. Subsequently, when time-up of the timer is discriminated, the microcomputer is reset, and a load is stopped. In such a way, the malfunction preventing method for a microcomputer control apparatus being excellent in reliability and safety can be obtained.
