PURPOSE:To produce industrially and stably a corrosion resisting soft-magnetic material showing high magnetic permeability by carrying out a cooling stage after the final annealing while applying a magnetic field under specific conditions at the time of producing an Fe-Cr soft-magnetic material containing specific amounts of Cr. CONSTITUTION:An Fe-Cr alloy containing 10-30wt.% Cr as a principal component and excellent in corrosion resistance is hot-rolled, subjected to cold rolling once or more and then to single or more annealings including the final annealing, and cooled. In the above cooling stage, a magnetic field of =5Oe is applied from outside at a temp. in the range between the Curie point and 400 deg.C, followed by cooling at a cooling rate, preferably, of 0.1-100 deg.C/min. By this method, the Fe-Cr soft-magnetic material having = about 10000 maximum permeability and excellent in magnetic properties can be industrially and stably obtained. This soft-magnetic material is useful for magnetic shielding, etc., for use in a corrosive environment.
