PURPOSE: To simplify the production method and to use the ambient temp. in the method for obtaining a precursor by the reaction of trihalogenoborane with a silazane compd. by specifying the silazane compd. ;CONSTITUTION: At least one kind of silazane compd. A having ≥1 =Si-NH-Si= group per molecule is allowed to react with ≥1 kind of trihalogenoborane B with the ratio Ra of the gram equivalent of the group of the component A to the number of mols of the component B controlled to ≥2. The obtained polymer based on boron and nitrogen is pyrolyzed at 1000-2000°C to obtain boron nitride. In this case, the component B is gradually introduced into the entire component A in a reactor, or the components A and B are simultaneously introduced into the reactor to cause a reaction.
