EXTRACT OF CELL WITH WATER HAVING ANTIHYPERTENSIVE ACTION AND ANTIHYPERTENSIVE AGENT

PURPOSE:To obtain an antihypertensive agent free from side effects, containing an extract which has association relationship to organisms, high safety and is prepared by extracting a cell of bacterium belonging to the genus Streptococcus or Enterococcus with water. CONSTITUTION:A cell of bacterium belonging to the genus Streptococcus or Enterococcus is extracted with warm water at =50 deg.C and the cell is removed after the extraction to give an extracted solution. The extracted solution is concentrated and dried as it is and used as an antihypertensive agent. Further preferably salts and other low-molecular substances are removed from the extracted solution by dialysis, etc., to give a more effective antihypertensive agent. The extract of cell or the antihypertensive agent has no toxicity at all or extremely low toxicity. The antihypertensive agent can be administered orally and by injection. The antihypertensive agent has intermediate effects, durable effects and is inexpensive. The antihypertensive agent is not only used as a drug but also is added to foods and usable for preventing and treating hypertension.
