OUTSIDE MIRROR WITH WATERDROP SCATTERING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To directly vibrate a mirror base itself with ultrasonic waves and improve the waterdrop scattering effect by arranging a mirror metal thin film and a driving electrode on both the front and rear faces of a mirror base made of a piezoelectric material respectively, and applying the AC voltage to them. CONSTITUTION:On face of the mirror side of a mirror base 1 made of a piezoelectric material such as piezoelectric ceramic is formed into a curved shape with the preset curvature, and a metal thin film 2 for mirror is formed on the surface. A driving electrode 3 is formed on the other face of the above base 1 over nearly the whole face. Lead wires 4 are connected to the metal thin film 2 and the driving electrode 3 respectively. The AC voltage is applied across the metal thin film 2 and the driving electrode 3 via the lead wire 4, the above base 1 itself is vibrated by ultrasonic waves as a piezoelectric vibrator, thus the waterdrops stuck on the surface of the metal thin film 2 are scattered. Waterdrops can be uniformly and efficiently scattered.
