PURPOSE:To obtain a fine pattern with a high resolution of mum order by forming an orientation pattern composed of a cell adhesive and a cell nonadhesive surfaces. CONSTITUTION:A cell nonadhesive hydrophilic polymer, composed of a hydrophilic polymer (e.g. PVA) without any electric charge and a compound (e.g. sodium 4,4'-diazidostilbene-2,2'-disulfonate) and having photosensitivity is applied or adsorbed on the surface in which a polymer having cell adhesion (e.g. polyacrylic acid) is immobilized and then irradiated with light through a photomask having a desired orientation pattern, subsequently washed and developed to form an image of the cell nonadhesive hydrophilic polymer.
