Then the means 5 maintains the matching property through the opposite frame having the inter- frame relation by reference to the information registered into the means 7. Thus the inter-frame matching property can be automatically maintained. Then it is possible to prevent a bug or an inconsistent inference caused by an unmatched state of the inter-frame relations. As a result, the reliability is improved for an expert system using a frame type knowledge expression.
