The means is intended for application in agriculture and in environmental protection. It provides a reduction in the absorption of selenium by plants, ensuring an unaffected crop yield, an outer appearance of agricultural products and chlorophyll, and the carotenoid and microelemental content of plants. The means is introduced in the nutritive media of excessive selenium and magnesium ions (as MgCl2 or MgSO4 types) as a substance in the form of water solutions used for the irrigation of plants at concentrations of 2 to 10 mEq/litre.
