PURPOSE: Plant culture water containing selenium and a method for culturing plants using the same are provided, thereby producing high quality plants containing a large quantity of selenium which have no toxicity and a high absorption rate. CONSTITUTION: The plant culture water contains 0.1 to 400 ppm of selenium, wherein the selenium is selected from inorganic selenium such as sodium selenite(Na2SeO3), organic selenium such as selenomethionine or selenocysteine and a mixture thereof; and the plant culture water has pH 5.5 to 9.2. The method for culturing plants comprises supplying plants with the plant culture water containing selenium or dipping seeds of the plants in the plant culture water containing selenium; and the plants are bean sprouts or green bean sprouts.
