A toilet cleaning block composition in the form of solid pieces comprises an iodophore and polyethylene oxide polymer having a molecular weight of between approx. 1 and 6 million, a dye, calcium sulphate and, where appropriate, constituents which comprise aromatic principles, binding agents and fillers and mixtures thereof.
