pThe insecticide for controlling pests of the genera Homoptera and Thysanoptera and, in particular, of aphids and thrips contains 80 to 95% by weight of a mixture of normal paraffins with a length of the carbon chain of C10-20, 20 to 5% by weight of surface-active substances and, where appropriate, solvents. The insecticide is suitable for spraying tobacco, cotton, sugarbeet, potatoes, vegetables, fruit crops and other crops which are attacked.
