PROCESS FOR PREPARING AN AQUEOUS SOLUTION OF ZINC SULPHATE INTENDED FOR THE ELECTROLYTIC PREPARATION OF ZINC BY STORAGE OF RAW GOODS

An aq. soln. of zinc sulphate is made for feeding into a process for the electrolytic mfr. of zinc, where a roasted raw material is treated with a neutral leach (a), a hot acid leach (b) and the pptn. of jarosite (c), each step is followed by solid/liq. sepn. and the residue from step (c) is recycled to step (b). The residue from the neutral leach (a) is pref. fed to step (c). A simpler method of treating zinc ores etc. than conventional processes is provided.
