A SLIDING PARALLEL STRAIGHT EDGE FOR AN EAR SENSOR

Parallel guide system consists of a first parallelogram composed of two parallel first rods, fixed and free couplers and a second parallelogram formed from rods hinged to the free coupler and fitted with an additional coupler which carriers the ear feeler. The four joints (26,28) of the the first parallelogram (16) should be single axis joints and each of the second parallelogram rods (32,34) should be so hinged to the free coupler (30) as to swivel round mutually perpendicular joint axes (c.f). The rod joint axes (c,d) register compared with the second joint axes (e.f) which are parallel to one another. The ear feeler (8) is so pivoted to the free coupler round a single axis joint (50,60,64) with an horizontal axis (g).
