The recoil damper for a firearm consists of a hollow cylinder (1) which is fitted over the end of the barrel of the firearm. The cylinder (1) has an end wall with a central hole (9) for the passage of the projectile. This hole (9) is aligned exactly with the firearm barrel and its dia is only very slightly greater than the bore of the weapon barrel. The wall of the cylinder (1) has openings (15) which are oblique to the cylinder axis and inclined in the forward direction. The total cross-sectional area of the openings (15) amount to at least 170 sq.mm. USE - Recoil damper for firearm.
