A safety arrangement in a power saw is positioned in the rear handle 16 of the saw and comprises a finger trigger 12 and a wire lever 11 which on starting moves upwards, the rear end of the lever coming up against a stop 27 on a pressed-in gas lock 29. The trigger can continue upwards by virtue of the mounting between the lever and the trigger, the gas wire 21 being extended in relation to its casing 20, which means that the gas lever of the carburettor is pivoted to full throttle. When the gas lock is not in the pressed-in position, the rear end of the lever will pass the stop on the gas lock, which results in the wire lever not being pivoted in relation to the trigger. In this case, no gas is applied, as a result of which protection is obtained against uncontrolled setting in operation of the saw chain. IMAGE
