Benzoxazinone and benzothiazinone derivatives of formula CHEM wherein R represents hydrogen, (C2-6)alkyl, (C5-7)cycloalkyl, phenyl, substituted phenyl; R1 and R2 independently represent hydrogen, halogen, (C1-4)alkyl, (C1-4)alkoxy or trifluoromethyl; X is oxigen or sulfur; Y is (C2-6)alkylene or (C5-7)cycloalkylene; and salts therewith of pharmaceutically acceptable acids. The compounds possess cardiovascular activity with high specificity for the coronary district.
