The use of optical properties of anisotropic materials as means for taking pictures is based on making pictures in slide format. The individual picture is a combination of materials of different optical properties and states of processing. Continuously changing, sensations (perceptions) are produced during slide projection as a result of the rotation of a polarisation film 1 upstream of the projection lens of a projector 2, and of the interference of coherent light waves in the beam path of linearly polarized light after passage through birefringent materials in the slide frame.
