ABSTRACTThis invention provides a chair member for promotingcorrect posture. The chair member may form the chairseat or back rest or it may be A portable cushion. Itincludes a forward support portion of relatively highdensity resilient material and an adjacent rear supportportion of relatively low density resilient material. Inthe seat embodiment, differential deformation of the tworegions locates an occupant's ischial tuberosity behindthe forward support portion which thereby resists forwardmovement of the sitter from the chair. The seat ispreferably inclined.
