AT9-86-037RETURN TO THE PREVIOUS REVISIONPOINT IN DOCUMENT EDITINGAbstractUpon termination of the editing of a document,the editing program saves a pointer in the documentwhich contains the location of the character orcontrol at the cursor location when editing wasterminated. Then, when editing of the document isresumed, the operator has the option to return to thissaved, last revision point location or instead, to thebeginning of the document as has been the case withprior art editors. The pointer to the last editlocation is saved with the document itself, on thestorage media, so that any operator using any copy ofthe editor with which the document is compatible, canreturn on any document to the last revision locationregardless of the number of intervening documentswhich have been edited.
