On each end ofthe roll there is a roll trunnion or journal which is borne in a bearingouter part, which is supported in a stationary chair. The latter is madeup of a base plate and a guide plate, which extends along the external endface of the bearing outer part. The latter has guide claws which fitaround the guide plate so that the bearing outer part may be moved alongthe guide plate. In the base plate there are two single acting hydraulicpistons for displacing the bearing outer part in one direction. Fordisplacing the bearing outer part in the other direction an additionalhydraulic piston is arranged in the upper part of the guide plate in orderto engage the roll trunnion.
