ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREThe present invention relates to a processfor oxidizing bilirubin which comprises reacting asolution containing bilirubin with hemoglobin, eitherin free or immobilized form, in the presence of anoxidizing agent such as hydrogen peroxide. Thisprocess is useful in reducing bilirubin levels in theblood of severely jaundiced patients. It alsoprovides a basis for determining bilirubin levels in afluid.
