FINE-NEEDLE ASPIRATION CELL SAMPLING METHODS AND APPARATUS

we have developed an apparatus and processes for aspiration biopsy using a fine needle. the process and apparatus includes a needle (2) with an opening that can be blocked during the time of penetration and withdrawal of the suction cycle.in the device, the needle (2) is connected to a fixed housing (1) with a needle (4) and a stylus (3). after penetration of the target area, we move the needle a predetermined number of times, which is determined by the performance of the sample were required. the needle is not blocked during the down cycle.we have developed a device with both manual and automatic procedures for performing the aspiration biopsy using a thin needle, in accordance with the described process.many configurations of protective material (6) for various applications of biopsy are shown, including those applicable to prostate biopsies and chest or other soft tissue and can be used in conjunction with the ultrasonic transducers.we have developed other needle configurations to improve the performance of the sample, reducing the infiltration and minimize clogging of the needle.
