The flex spline for a harmonic gear is mfd. by winding a carbon fiber-epoxy composite material on the silicon rubber die, forming a tooth profile on the composite material, and hardening the tooth profile-formed materal. The apparatus includes the up and down operating steel core having a conical taper in the bottom, the silicon rubber die, the mold for forming the tooth profile on the composite material, and the vises for suporting the parts. The flex spline has a low intrinsic frequency and a good attenuation characteristic against the vibration.
