A selective pervaporization membrane is produced by (a) dissolving a polyvinyl alcohol polymer powder in a water to produce 5-30 wt.% concn. of a polyvinyl alcohol polymer soln., (b) molding the soln. to a plane or hollow fiber membrane, and solidifying the membrane in the solidifying soln. at 0-70 deg.C for 10min-2hr, and (c) crosslink-bonding the polymer membrane at 40-80 deg.C for 20min-2hr. The pervaporization membrane is used in the separation of an organic soln., and has a good water-proof, chemical-resistance and heat-resistance.
