The aerial has an electronically swivellable directional diagram in elevation up to a preset top boundary angle. In the region of the latter the elevation swivel within a narrow angular sector provides a three-dimensional scanning of cosiderably higher discovery probability for targets with very low reflective cross section w.r.t. an angular region in front of the angular sector. During the scanning the energy directed at the target is pref. increased. Alternately the transmit pulse power is increased.
