Process for the intrasequential cofactor regeneration in enzymatic synthesis with one or a plurality of steps. In this process, a substrate is reduced by enzymes in a same reaction system (with one or a plurality of steps), and the reduction product thus obtained is transformed by enzymes into an oxidation product, or a substrate is oxidized by enzymes and the oxidation product thus obtained is transformed by enzymes into a reduction product. The desired final product is isolated by known processes, and two enzymes presenting the same specificity as to the cofactor are used for the associated oxidation and reduction processes. The process is particularly well adapted for the production of vitamine C, intermediate products thereof or precursors thereof.
